Ever since the seventh grade, I have been lucky enough to be part of the Gilbert Soccer Club. I have been able to share a state championship with my teammates, volunteer as an Arsenal Academy Coach, and learn from some of the best coaches in Arizona. Throughout the years, I have not only learned how to better myself on the soccer field, but also have become a better person through hard work and dedication. I think my coaches would agree when I say I am a driven and very hardworking young woman. I have been blessed with tremendous ability in a number of different arenas, which is good because I like challenges. This is the reason is I have pushed myself and with the help of others and a little luck, I find myself where I am today.
Dedication and loyalty are two of the most important characteristics a person can have on a team or in the real world. I think many young players tend to lack these key traits as they are constantly looking to find greener grass. Kids like to hop on the bandwagon and follow their friends to new teams and clubs. I knew the grass I was in could not possibly be any greener wherever I went! In all my years as a club player, I have given everything I have to this program with the hopes and dreams that it would help me grow into a collegiate athlete. I truly believed that the choices other clubs offered were no better than the club I was already aligned with. Along the way I met some great friends and had lots of fun too. I learned about the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat and know that nothing happens in life without hard work and dedication. I have committed myself to doing whatever it takes to be successful in life, and with the traits I learned at home and polished with GSC, I will reach my goal.
I would like to thank all of the coaches I have ever had at Gilbert Soccer Club and for all of the opportunities the club has given me. Next year I will be attending Texas A&M University, where I will continue my soccer career. I owe all of my successes to the many people who have helped me get to where I am today. The tight bond I have formed with this club and my teammates will definitely stay with me forever and I look forward to watching this club grow and contest against the many clubs in Arizona. I love the Gilbert Soccer Club to death and I am very proud to be able to say that whole-heartedly. During my first year in the club, I told myself that Arsenal would be the first and last club I would ever play for. I may have been naïve at the time but that is what I truly believed.
GSC has just barely scratched the surface of what it is capable of and what will happen in the near future. It will only get better from here on out. So thanks again to everyone who has ever believed in me, and best wishes to one of the most successful clubs in Arizona. GO ARSENAL.
